Evaluation 2 How Does Your Media Product Represent Particular Social Groups.

Our media product "The Abandoned" is about a young girl who enters a burnt down house which is later shown that the house is possessed. We used a school girl because it relates to our target audience. The costume we used was a school uniform the girl was wearing a short navy blue skirt with a white shirt and a blazer this gave it a full effect that we were protraying a 15 year old school girl. we made our character where a full uniform because we wanted to show she was young and many horrors we had seen had the similar uniforms. We compared our costumes to the beginning of the ring where the girl is killed in her uniform. the makeup we used was a girly type makeup which most teenager would wear this is also common in many films. we wanted to have a normal teenage girl but we made her more of an outcast to fit our story line.

We didn't make our media production a typical horror we used a quiet girl that doesn't really get in trouble to make it less stereotypical this also gives our film a twist. Thats why the social group she represents is an outcast this isn't really common in films but we used this because we wanted a quiet young girl that hasn't got many friends so when she walks in the house alone its normal because she's use to being by herself.

The picture shown above shows two school girls from the film the ring but the way there are dressed shows that they social groups is popular and have loads of friends compare to our character we had Aime in her school uniform but she wears glasses and her skirt isn't as short as theres but we did let Aime wear makeup but it shows her as an outcast. There body language is a lot different to Aime's as there are shown to be the type of girls who are around boys and more out there as aime is all alone and her uniform is neat she's also more of a jumpy character.
